FSF Free Software Awards 2019

(Michael Downey) #1

A few weeks ago at LibrePlanet, the Free Software Foundation handed out its annual 2 awards – one of which goes to an individual and one for “projects of social benefit”.

For the 2nd year in a row both awards went to DIAL-associated winners! :trophy:

Last year was Karen Sandler for her work on Outreachy, and to the Public Lab community. This year the individual award went to Deb Nicholson from OSC partners Software Freedom Conservancy, and the Projects of Social Benefit award to OpenStreetMap in part for the work of the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) community.

Congratulations to all!
